This is the kind of fudge that feels like the holidays — simple, rich, and made to be shared. It comes together on the stovetop and sets up smooth and soft, just the way good fudge should.
Ingredients
- 3 cups granulated sugar
- 1½ sticks salted butter
- ⅔ cup evaporated milk
- 12 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 7 ounces marshmallow creme
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
Lightly grease a square baking pan and set it aside.
In a large stockpot, combine the sugar, butter, and evaporated milk. Place over medium heat and bring the mixture to a full boil, stirring constantly so nothing sticks or scorches.
Once boiling, continue stirring and let it cook for about five minutes. The mixture will thicken slightly as it cooks.
Remove the pot from the heat and immediately stir in the chocolate chips. Let them sit for a moment, then stir until fully melted and smooth.
Add the marshmallow creme and vanilla. Using a handheld mixer, blend until the mixture is creamy and well combined.
Pour the fudge into the prepared pan and smooth the top with a spatula. Let it cool at room temperature for about an hour, or until set.
Cut into squares and serve.
Notes from My Kitchen
This fudge firms up as it cools but stays soft and rich. I usually make it for holidays, gifting, or when a sweet treat feels called for.
